Bahrain’s Leadership Engages in Strategic Meetings and Defense Updates

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on a series of significant local events over the past 24 hours. Among the highlighted news, His Majesty the King, also serving as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited a Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) unit, demonstrating high-level engagement with national security forces.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty the King also had a meeting with His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Jordan, underscoring the diplomatic ties between Bahrain and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Additionally, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain was actively involved in diplomatic discussions, receiving the Crown Prince of Jordan and later bidding him farewell, further strengthening bilateral relations.

In response to regional security concerns, Bahrain condemned a terrorist plot aimed at destabilizing the United Arab Emirates, illustrating its stance against regional terrorism. The BDF General Command reported the interception of 194 missiles and 523 drones since the start of Iranian attacks, highlighting ongoing defensive operations.

The Deputy Prime Minister chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting, focusing on the country's administrative and policy matters. In financial affairs, the Undersecretary chaired the eighth extraordinary meeting of the Permanent Preparatory Committee, addressing economic and financial strategies.

Further emphasizing international engagement, the Bahrain Ambassador to the United States participated in the 2026 Arab Conference at Harvard, showcasing Bahrain's active role in global dialogues. Locally, the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) concluded the first cohort of the "National Paths" programme, marking a milestone in national educational initiatives.
