Qatar Amir Engages in Strategic Dialogue with Japanese Prime Minister

Doha: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, received a telephone call from Sanae Takaichi, Prime Minister of Japan. The conversation focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring means to support and develop relations across various sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the call also addressed regional and international developments, particularly the ongoing escalation impacting energy markets and supply chains. Both leaders emphasized the importance of ensuring stable energy flows. The Japanese Prime Minister condemned the recent Iranian attacks on Qatar and praised Qatar's effective crisis management, acknowledging its efforts to ensure the safety of Japanese residents and its role in fostering regional peace and stability.

In response, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad expressed gratitude for Japan's supportive stance, reiterating Qatar's commitment to the well-being of all residents and highlighting the strategic and longstanding relations between Qatar and Japan. Both leaders affirmed their support for mediation efforts by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to enhance energy security, stabilize markets, and support regional and global economic stability.
