EWA Unveils New Digital Account Closure Service for Companies via Bahrain.bh

Manama: The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), in collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), has launched a new service named "Closing Electricity and Water Account" for companies and institutions through Bahrain's national portal, bahrain.bh.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Ahmed Najib Al Jama', Director of Customer Services at EWA, stated that this launch is part of the Authority's strategy to enhance customer services by fully digitising its offerings. He mentioned that EWA is working towards achieving a 100% digital transformation in the upcoming phase.

The service is designed specifically for companies and institutions, allowing authorised signatories to submit account closure requests efficiently through the national portal. This initiative aims to streamline procedures and reduce time and effort for customers.

Al Jama' emphasized the immediate processing feature of the service, which permits accounts to be closed at the time of submission, thereby boosting operational efficiency and improving the customer experience.

He further explained that EWA has integrated with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for real-time verification of commercial registration data, removing the necessity for customers to provide additional documents. This secure and automated process ensures the electronic validity of business information.

This initiative is part of a larger effort by EWA to enhance customer service delivery by simplifying procedures and offering efficient, transparent, and seamless digital solutions. It also reflects EWA's commitment to keeping pace with technological developments and strengthening digital integration with relevant entities to deliver fast and innovative services.
