Manama: Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, President of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), emphasized the significance of Bahrain Sports Day as a platform to promote well-being and integrate physical activity into daily routines.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet's decision, spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was praised for designating February 20 as a half-working day for government employees. This initiative aims to boost participation in sports activities.
Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed highlighted the value of investing in health and sports initiatives to encourage sustainable and active lifestyles, reflecting the government's commitment to cultivating a healthier society.
EWA celebrated Bahrain Sports Day in collaboration with the General Sports Authority (GSA) under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. His Highness serves as the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of GSA, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
