Manama: The Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance in Sports Committee held a coordination meeting with the Bahrain Handball Federation to discuss the development of handball and to enhance women's sports participation in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Bahrain Handball Federation, focused on the current state of handball and reviewed the main challenges and obstacles to its development. The discussions also presented proposals and practical solutions to raise the technical and organizational level of women's competitions and to broaden participation at various levels.
The discussions highlighted the importance of joint cooperation between the relevant entities to ensure a motivating and safe sporting environment that empowers Bahraini women in the sports field.
Participating in the meeting from the Equal Opportunities Committee were Salama Mohammed Atiq and Wafa Ibrahim Al Jazzaf, while from the Bahrain Handball Federation, Zahra Qaed, Member of the Board of Directors, took part.
The Equal Opportunities Committee reiterated its commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at achieving gender balance in the sports field, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation with national sports federations to implement related plans and initiatives.
