Egypt and Mozambique Foreign Ministers Focus on Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Mozambique's Foreign Minister Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's dedication to enhancing cooperation and exploring new opportunities for collaboration, especially as the two nations celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties this year.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's ongoing support for Mozambique's counterterrorism efforts, stressing a comprehensive approach that encompasses security, military, intellectual, social, and developmental aspects. He also highlighted the potential role of the Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding in supporting these efforts.

The conversation between the ministers also covered preparations for the first round of political consultations between Egypt and Mozambique, along with issues of mutual concern. These include arrangements for the upcoming African Union Summit and discussions on institutional reforms within the organisation.
