Education Minister receives Irish medical accreditation delegation

Manama, Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi received a delegation representing the accreditation committee at the Irish Colleges of Medicine.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary-General, HEC Board of Trustees Deputy Chair, Arabian Gulf University (AGU) Vice President for Administrative Affairs Dr Abdulrahman Youssef Ismail and AGU College of Medicine Dean Dr. Abdulhalim Dhaifallah.

The delegation which includes Professor John Donoghue, Professor Patrick Murray, and Professor Tony Peacock, paid a visit to the AGU College of Medicine and Medical Sciences at the Arabian to study the accreditation of its academic program “Doctor of Medicine”.

Dr. Al Nuaimi briefed the accreditation committee about the role of the Arabian Gulf University, as well as King Abdulla Medical City, which embodies strong fraternal relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He stressed Bahrain’s support to the Arabian Gulf University, which represented a model of GCC educational cooperation, highlighting efforts to support the quality of its academic programmes.

The minister also underscored HEC’s keen support to higher education establishments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
