Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, hosted a dinner banquet in honour of the Speaker of the Arab Parliament and Their Excellencies the Speakers of councils and parliaments in the Arab countries as well as the participating delegations in the launching ceremony of the “Document on Education Development in the Arab World”. Held under the theme “Bahrain the Gateway to Education Development in the Arab World”, the ceremony was held under the patronage and in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training.
The Education Minister praised the content of the document which aims to bring about the desired development in the educational sector in the Arab countries. He stressed the kingdom’s full readiness to support the document through the Centre of Excellence for Technical and Vocational Education and the Regional Centre for Information Technology and Telecommunication, which are operating in Bahrain in cooperation with UNESCO.
The Education Minister presented commemorative shields to the participating delegations which bear the slogan of the centennial anniversary of regular education in the Kingdom of Bahrain which started as early as 1919 with the establishment of Al-Hidaya Al-Khalifia School.
