Manama: Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, is embarking on public beach enhancement works at Bilaj Al Jazayer to introduce a renewed experience as part of the transformation of Bahrain's sunset coast. This stage marks the first phase of the Bilaj Al Jazayer masterplan landscape enhancement.
According to Bahrain News Agency, these enhancements aim to improve the visitor experience and make the beachfront more accessible and enjoyable. The project spans over 80,000 square meters and will deliver a lifestyle-focused beachfront, including shaded walkways, sports and outdoor fitness areas, dedicated cycling and jogging tracks, and a playground.
The area will also feature food and beverage and retail outlets, parking and valet services, and green spaces, creating a dynamic coastal destination. Khaled Abdulrahman Al Majed, CEO of Edamah, emphasized the company's focus on creating inclusive and engaging experiences that support wellness and tourism growth. He noted that the enhancements at Bilaj Al Jazayer are designed to deliver an integrated and vibrant environment for families, residents, and visitors, reflecting Edamah's people-centric approach.
Construction will begin on April 13, during which the public beach will be temporarily closed to facilitate the enhancement works aimed at providing a refreshed visitor experience. The Bilaj Al Jazayer masterplan, covering approximately 1.6 million square meters, includes a mix of hospitality, residential, retail, and entertainment components. The project recently earned a Five Star Award in the Mixed-Use Development category at the Arabian Property Awards 2025-2026 in London, highlighting its status as a key coastal destination in the region.
