Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, has issued Edict (3) of 2026, designating the minister accountable to the legislative authority of the National Council for Arts. This decision follows the approval of the Cabinet.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Article (I) of the edict states that the Minister of Information shall be the minister responsible before the legislative authority, in both chambers, for the National Council for Arts. This move aims to streamline the accountability and responsibility for the arts council within the government framework.
Article (II) mandates that the Minister of Information and the concerned authorities, within their respective capacities, implement the edict. It further specifies that the edict shall take effect from the date of its issuance and mandates its publication in the Official Gazette, ensuring transparency and public awareness of the new directive.
