Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in discussions with Elmedin Konakovic, the Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during Konakovic's visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting focused on enhancing the longstanding relations between the two nations and exploring avenues for increased cooperation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani emphasized the importance of the talks in providing fresh momentum to the bilateral relationship. He highlighted the potential for expanded cooperation in various sectors, including economic, trade, investment, and social sectors. The discussions also aimed at identifying opportunities for agreements and memoranda of understanding that could benefit both countries.
Minister Konakovic acknowledged the existing level of cooperation and reiterated Bosnia and Herzegovina's commitment to further developing these relations. Both ministers reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation, discussing ways to broaden collaboration in political, economic, trade, and social domains. They also explored possibilities for increasing trade exchange and enhancing partnerships in tourism, culture, and health.
The ministers addressed regional and international developments, particularly focusing on the situation in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, and initiating the second phase of the peace plan proposed by United States President Donald Trump for Gaza.
Following the discussions, Minister Konakovic toured the Al Madar Centre at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was briefed on its functions in monitoring regional and global developments and preparing political reports and analyses.
