Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Second IPA Board Meeting, Focuses on Government Performance and Innovation

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Public Administration for 2026, held this morning in the presence of board members. The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that advancing government performance and developing the capabilities of national personnel remain a priority in support of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah emphasized that investing in the development of leadership and administrative skills has a direct and tangible impact on improving the quality and efficiency of government services. This is achieved through adopting innovation as a sustainable approach that enables government professionals to develop proactive solutions supporting sustainable development and meeting citizens' aspirations.

Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the IPA, reviewed the institute's operational performance report for the first half of 2026. The report showed that the institute delivered 44 training services benefiting 2,079 trainees through the National Programme for Government Leadership Development, across its four tracks, as well as professional programmes and contracted training courses.

Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa also informed the board that the institute had completed the accreditation procedures for several new trainers based on evaluation results and their fulfilment of the approved accreditation criteria.

The board approved a package of the institute's internal policies aimed at regulating and strengthening the governance of the training process at all stages, from needs assessment, programme design, and quality assurance to implementation mechanisms, admission and registration procedures, assessment tools, and the issuance of certificates.

Additionally, the board approved the launch of the Certified Innovation Professional (CInP) programme, one of the leading international professional certifications in institutional innovation. The programme aims to equip national professionals with the latest internationally recognised tools and practical methodologies while building expertise in innovation management, creativity techniques, design thinking, and systematic problem-solving. The board tasked the institute's executive management with taking all necessary measures to launch and implement the programme.
