Bahrain Denounces Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks on Its Territory and Neighboring States

Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain has issued a strong condemnation of the repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain described these attacks as systematic and dangerous escalations that threaten regional security and stability. The attacks are seen as a violation of state sovereignty and international law, including the United Nations Charter and Security Council Resolution No. 2817.

According to Bahrain News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized Bahrain's unwavering solidarity with the affected Arab states. The statement commended the efforts of the armed forces and air defenses in managing the Iranian attacks, which targeted civilian and vital facilities. It affirmed the right of states to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the Joint Defense Agreement of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. Bahrain also emphasized the importance of restraint and prioritizing peaceful solutions.

The Ministry reiterated its call for the international community, particularly the Security Council, to take decisive action against Iran's systematic attacks. It urged for the establishment of an effective mechanism for monitoring compliance, accountability, and compensation as per Security Council Resolution 2817 and UN Human Rights Council Resolution 1/61. The Ministry called for Iran to respect state sovereignty, cease its hostile operations, and ensure the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to promote regional stability and prosperity.
