Manama: His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting held at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting focused on various national and international matters, including Bahrain's diplomatic relations and internal development programs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet praised the visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the United Arab Emirates, where he met with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The Cabinet emphasized the enduring partnership between Bahrain and the UAE, reaffirming their commitment to mutual progress and prosperity.
The Cabinet extended congratulations to the UAE on Union Pledge Day, celebrating the historic 1971 meeting that led to the formation of the UAE. It recognized the UAE's significant achievements and ongoing development across numerous sectors.
The Cabinet also highlighted the successful organization of Ashura, crediting the Ministry of Interior and various public agencies for their coordinated efforts. It acknowledged the contributions of the Jaffari Endowments Council, Ma'atams directors, supervisory committees, and volunteer teams in ensuring smooth and safe activities.
Several memorandums were reviewed and approved during the meeting. These included updates on the Government Priorities Framework 4.0, a draft Buildings Regulation Law, and labour market indicators for the National Labour Market Plan (2023-2026). The Cabinet noted significant progress in employment and training targets, with substantial portions of annual goals already achieved.
The Cabinet commended initiatives led by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to develop national healthcare professionals, supporting 750 Bahraini doctors and nurses. Additional memorandums regarding educational quality reports, tourism developments, and municipal council contributions were also reviewed.
Ministerial reports on international engagements, including visits to Saudi Arabia and participation in global conferences, were noted, reflecting Bahrain's active role in regional and global dialogues.
