Deputy Prime Minister Chairs 301st Ministerial Committee Meeting on Infrastructure and Development Projects

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, led the 301st meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development Projects and Infrastructure. The meeting focused on a range of significant issues, including housing repairs, infrastructure development, and digital transformation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Committee expressed gratitude to Ebrahim Bin Hasan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, and Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, for their joint field visit to Sitra and Al Hidd Housing City. This visit was in line with directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to address damages to citizens' homes. The Committee acknowledged the completion of repairs to 71 homes in the first batch of those affected by Iranian attacks in various areas across the Kingdom.

The Committee also reviewed updates on additional repair batches, praising the efforts of Team Bahrain and various ministries for their diligent follow-up. In addition, they congratulated Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, for his recognition at the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.

Further discussions highlighted the importance of health and social benefits of walking tracks, citing a field visit by Minister Al Mubarak to the Al A'ali walkway. The Committee also celebrated the inauguration of the 2026 International Conference on Frontiers of Engineering and Emerging Technologies (FET'26), emphasizing the role of such events in promoting sustainable development.

In terms of infrastructure, the Committee commended the Roads Sector at the Ministry of Works for completing the expansion project on Shaikh Isa bin Salman Highway, improving traffic flow. They also welcomed the launch of advanced digital government services by the Survey and Land Registration Bureau and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, marking progress towards comprehensive digital transformation.

The meeting included a briefing on a recent meeting between Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), aimed at strengthening private sector partnerships to boost economic development.

In response to local press reports, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed Minister Al Mubarak to address exposed agricultural drains and coordinate with the Ministry of Works for solutions. Additionally, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah directed the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture to intensify inspections to remove public facility encroachments.

The Committee discussed the National Waste Management Strategy, approved the Bahrain Green Building Guide, and reviewed public service integration for upcoming national celebrations. They also considered launching an electronic platform for monitoring and tracking Committee priorities and initiatives.
