Manama: Yusuf Abdulla Al Humood, Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, chaired the 75th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Finance Ministries Undersecretaries Committee. This meeting, conducted via video conference, served as a preparatory session for the upcoming 125th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this meeting was part of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the GCC. The focus was on enhancing financial and economic cooperation and advancing economic integration among the member states. Al Humood highlighted Bahrain's dedication to strengthening cooperation in response to regional and international developments. He also expressed gratitude to the State of Kuwait for its previous leadership and acknowledged the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat in organizing the meeting.
Al Humood addressed the economic impact of Iranian attacks on GCC states, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to mitigate these effects and the necessity for deeper integration. The meeting covered several significant topics, including the facilitation of transit and customs procedures, developments in the Customs Union and GCC Common Market, outcomes of technical committees, implementation of decisions regarding harmful trade practices, progress on free trade agreements, and mechanisms to enhance economic integration and information exchange.
