Council for International Dispute Resolution Secretary General Meets Former Indian Chief Justice on BICC Initiatives

New delhi: Professor Marike Patrani Paulsson, Secretary General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, met with the former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, who is currently the Chair of the Advisory Panel of the newly launched Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC). The meeting took place alongside Amir Singh Pasrich, Co-Chair of the International Bar Association (IBA) India and Treasurer of the IBA globally, during the IBA India Litigation and ADR Symposium in New Delhi.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting followed the launch of the BICC on November 5 and was part of a broader initiative to promote the Global Justice Bay (GJB) and the BICC, while aiming to strengthen institutional ties with key international stakeholders. Discussions emphasized advancing the next phase of the BICC's development, focusing on strategic priorities, international engagement, and enhancing cross-border commercial dispute resolution frameworks.

The meeting also explored potential cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the International Bar Association. Both parties discussed ways to deepen cooperation, exchange expertise, and support the Court's positioning within the global dispute resolution landscape. The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to advancing judicial and institutional collaboration and to enhancing legal certainty and investor confidence through effective dispute resolution mechanisms.
