Dubai: The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has been honored with two awards, 'Best Use of Social Media' and 'Best Athlete Support Programme,' at the Middle East Sports Industry Awards (SPIA). This recognition is attributed to its significant role in hosting the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the awards were accepted during a ceremony in Dubai by key representatives of the BOC, including Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the BOC, Yousif Duaij, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Asian Youth Games, and Ahmed Mohammed Abdulghaffar, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chief Operations Officer at the BOC. The 3rd Asian Youth Games were noted for their organizational, technical, and media success, showcasing Bahrain's capability in facilitating major continental sporting events.
The SPIA Awards are esteemed within the Middle East, acknowledging leaders, decision-makers, institutions, and sports campaigns that significantly enhance the sports industry across the region. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who holds multiple prestigious positions including First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), expressed that this accomplishment underscores Bahrain's prominent status in the Asian and international sports arenas.
Highlighting the royal support, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasized that the achievement was facilitated by the encouragement of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also acknowledged the contributions of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in supporting youth and sports initiatives.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad remarked that the awards reflect the collective efforts of the BOC in organizing the 3rd Asian Youth Games, and the dedication of national teams in executing the event to the highest standards.
