Kuala lumpur: The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) signed a letter of intent with INCEIF University in Malaysia, reflecting the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to strengthening its pioneering role in Islamic banking and reinforcing its position as a global hub for financial knowledge. The signing took place during the Institute's recent official visit to Kuala Lumpur.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement was signed by Professor Emeritus Dato' Dr. Mohd Azmi Omar, President and Chief Executive Officer of INCEIF University, and Dr. Ahmed Abdul Hameed Al Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of the BIBF. It provides a framework for cooperation in education, training, and research in the field of Islamic finance.
The collaboration aims to strengthen international partnerships, encourage the exchange of expertise, and contribute to preparing future financial professionals, in line with Bahrain's efforts to support human capital development and reinforce its role in the Islamic banking sector.
Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh stated that the partnership with INCEIF University represents an opportunity to expand cooperation in areas of shared interest. He noted that the agreement will help advance training, research, and talent development to benefit the Islamic finance sector at both regional and international levels.
Dr. Rizwan Malik, Head of the Islamic Finance Centre at the BIBF, commented that the collaboration will support joint research and academic cooperation between the two institutions. He highlighted that it will also help prepare future Islamic finance professionals to meet the requirements of regional and global markets.
The agreement is expected to support the development of specialised programmes in Islamic finance, encourage academic innovation, and contribute to broader sustainable development objectives.
