Phnom penh: A Bahraini parliamentary delegation, led by Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker, met with Sous Yara, Chair of the Cambodian Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, during the 16th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in Cambodia. The meeting underscored the existing strong relationship between Bahrain and Cambodia and their commitment to enhancing parliamentary cooperation and sharing legislative experience.
According to Bahrain News Agency, both parties discussed ways to improve communication between their parliaments, address mutual interests, and coordinate in regional and international forums. Qarata emphasized the importance of developing parliamentary ties to support the political and economic goals of both countries and commended the positive direction of bilateral relations.
Sous welcomed the prospect of stronger cooperation and acknowledged Bahrain's role in fostering dialogue and peace. The delegation included Talal Mohammed Al Mannai, Deputy Head of the Delegation, and MP Waleed Jaber Al Doseri. The meeting is part of Bahrain's broader effort to enhance its presence at international parliamentary events and build cooperative relationships with other parliaments.
