New delhi: Professor Marike Patrani Paulsson, Secretary General of the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated as a Guest of Honour in a panel discussion titled "Imagining the Future of Arbitration and Justice in India" at the General Counsel's Association of India Nyaya Nirman 2025 event, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the session featured Justice Hemant Gupta, Chairperson of the India International Arbitration Centre (IIAC), Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, Secretary of the Department of Legal Affairs in the Ministry of Law and Justice of the Republic of India, and representatives from the International Criminal Court and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
Professor Paulsson presented the user perspective on dispute resolution, emphasising the role of mediation and highlighting the future partnership with India to promote mediation as an effective alternative dispute resolution tool. She also presented Justice Hemant Gupta and Dr. Anju Rathi Rana with a copy of the handbook "Arbitration in India," which she published with the late Fali Nariman.
On the sidelines of the event, Professor Paulsson met with members of India's business and legal communities, including general counsel from leading companies.
