Sydney: The Bahrain Space Agency took part in the fourth meeting of the heads of space agencies of the Artemis Accords member states, convened alongside the 76th International Astronautical Congress in Sydney, Australia.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this year's meeting featured extensive discussions on the core directions of the Artemis partnership, along with a comprehensive workshop that reviewed the work of the main task forces since the third meeting. The participants also examined the outcomes and recommendations from a workshop held in Dubai earlier this year and explored ways to enhance cooperation among member countries.
The agency was represented at this high-level meeting by Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, Chief Executive Officer; Rasha Al Amad, Head of Strategic Planning; and space engineer Yaqoob Al Qassab. Dr. Al Aseeri highlighted that Bahrain's involvement in the meeting concentrated on several areas, including following up on the implementation of organizational mechanisms among member states to achieve optimal results, reviewing key documents and reports, and suggesting practical solutions to priority issues in line with the group's objectives.
Dr. Al Aseeri also mentioned that the Artemis partnership currently includes 56 countries, many of which have substantial experience in the space industry and have well-established governmental and private institutions operating in the sector. He emphasized that the partnership is a significant source of technology and space data that enriches joint work, aligning with Bahrain's strategic goal of developing a sustainable national space sector.
