Bahrain Participates in OIC Legislative Forum

Jakarta: Bahrain has actively participated in the 6th meeting of Secretaries General of member parliaments in the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), with a focus on strengthening parliamentary ties with Arab and Islamic countries. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary of the Executive Committee of Bahrain's Parliamentary Delegation, highlighted Bahrain's commitment to fostering these connections.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Buainain emphasized the crucial support provided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the legislative authority and the collaboration between the legislative and executive branches, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This cooperation is seen as vital for aligning legislative councils on mutual issues, particularly those impacting Islamic nations.

The meeting, held alongside the 19th PUIC Conference in Indonesia from May 12-15, under the theme "Good Governance and Strong Institutions as Pillars of Resilience," explored ways to enhance parliamentary coordination. Al Buainain pointed out Bahrain's proactive role in parliamentary forums through initiatives that aim to improve legislative performance and support the developmental goals of Islamic nations.

Furthermore, Al Buainain stressed the significance of ongoing cooperation between parliamentary secretariats to enhance administrative practices and utilize digital transformation to support legislative functions. The discussions and initiatives highlighted at the meeting reflect Bahrain's dedication to contributing to the resilience and governance of Islamic nations through parliamentary collaboration.
