Cairo: The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has been recognized as the Best Arab Olympic Body for 2024 at the Tatweej Academy for Excellence and Quality Awards. This prestigious event took place in Cairo and was organized for the fifth consecutive year by Tatweej News.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the award was received by Ahmed Mohamed Abdulghaffar, Executive Director of Operations at the BOC. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt, along with several officials and distinguished guests.
The BOC was honored with this award following a voting process that acknowledged its achievements in 2024, particularly at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Bahrain's Olympic team ranked first among Arab countries and 33rd globally out of 204 participating countries. This achievement marked the first time Bahrain won four medals: two gold and two silver, in the athletics, wrestling, and weightlifting events.
