Bahrain Daily Newspapers Highlight Key Local and Regional Developments

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on local events that happened over the past 24 hours.

According to Bahrain News Agency, one of the notable events was a meeting between HM King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) officers, indicating ongoing discussions on national security. In another development, the Interior Ministry issued a statement regarding the death of a detainee, which has drawn attention to the conditions within the nation's detention facilities.

The Industry Ministry's recent inspection campaigns across retail outlets in Bahrain were also highlighted, reflecting efforts to ensure compliance with trade regulations. On the regional front, the Saudi Defense Ministry reported the interception and destruction of a drone in the Eastern Region, while also detailing the interception and destruction of six drones in Riyadh.

The situation in Kuwait has been tense, with Shuwaikh Port and Mubarak Al Kabeer Port both coming under drone and missile attacks. Similarly, UAE's air defenses were active, engaging six ballistic missiles and nine UAVs. The Jordanian Armed Forces reported targeting three missiles over the same period, and Kuwait's air defenses successfully intercepted four missiles and three drones.

In other regional news, Gulf Air announced the extension of its temporary operations from Dammam until April 2026, and Jazeera Airways plans to resume Karachi flights via Dammam from April 7. Meanwhile, the gold market saw a rise due to dip-buying, despite heading for a fourth weekly loss.
