Bahrain Clinches Double Victory at Gulf Green Mobility Forum Awards

Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain secured two prestigious awards at the Gulf Green Mobility Forum 2026 during a ceremony held in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, accepted the Sustainable Organisation Award on behalf of Khalifa Bin Salman Port. The award was presented by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, with Bader Hood Al Mahmood, Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Affairs, in attendance.

Fatima Abdulla Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transportation and Postal Affairs, was honored with the Leading Woman in Mobility Award. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla emphasized that these achievements underscore Bahrain's commitment to fostering a sustainable and innovative transport system. This initiative aims to reduce emissions and enhance resource and energy efficiency, aligning with the Kingdom's sustainability and carbon neutrality goals.

Khalifa Bin Salman Port was recognized for its initiatives in sustainability and carbon reduction, highlighting a solar energy project that utilizes panels installed at port facilities. This initiative provides clean, renewable energy and boosts operational efficiency.

Al Dhaen's recognition with the Leading Woman in Mobility Award reflects her significant contributions to sustainable land transport, institutional governance, and sustainability. Her efforts in innovation, national talent and youth development, and promoting women's participation in the transport and logistics sector were key factors in her accolade.
