Bahrain and UAE Discuss Human Rights Coordination in Third Meeting

Manama: Ambassador Dr. Yousif Abdulkarim Bucheeri, Director-General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Saeed Al Hebsi, Director of Human Rights at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the third Bahrain-UAE human rights coordination meeting. Ambassador Dr. Bucheeri commended the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, built on a solid foundation of cooperation established by their forefathers. He highlighted the continued progress of these ties under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed areas of cooperation in human rights, discussed future collaboration, and exchanged expertise on developing national mechanisms for the protection of human rights. It also highlighted Bahrain's efforts in this field, including the national human rights progress achieved under the National Human Rights Plan (2022 - 2026).

At the end of the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of continued coordination and joint efforts to strengthen human rights and the rule of law in both countries, in line with their shared goals and aspirations.
