Bahrain And Morocco Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation

Tashkent: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, and Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, met with Najib El Khadi, Secretary General of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco, on the sidelines of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP) meeting, held in Uzbekistan, alongside the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed the longstanding relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. The officials underscored their mutual commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the secretariats, particularly in digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

They commended the support of Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, and Rachid Talbi Alami, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco. They also discussed means to enhance cooperation in research, information, and administrative domains, benefit from advanced practices in support of legislative work, and continue coordination in regional and international forums.

The two sides agreed to explore joint programmes and projects aimed at advancing the work of parliamentary secretariats in both countries.
