Tashkent: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation participated in the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, held as part of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Uzbekistan. The delegation included Dalal Jassim Al Zayed, a member of the Shura Council, and Dr. Mahdi Abdulaziz Al Shuweikh, a member of the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the forum featured the presentation of candidates for the Bureau of Women Parliamentarians for the 2025-2026 term, followed by the announcement of the elected members. The Bahraini delegation commended the role of the Bureau in addressing topics related to women and safeguarding their rights and achievements. They emphasised that such efforts reflect the international parliamentary community's ongoing commitment to promoting gender equality and advancing women's rights worldwide.
