Paris: Bahrain Airport Company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Valo Aviation to develop dedicated maintenance, repair, and ground services facilities for business aviation at Bahrain International Airport. The signing took place during the Paris Air Show 2025, with His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, in attendance.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the memorandum was signed by Jeffrey Goh, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air Group, and Hanna Hakamo, Chief Executive Officer of Valo Aviation. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed emphasized the importance of developing the business aviation sector as part of Bahrain's national air transport system. He noted that the partnership aims to enhance the Kingdom's appeal to international investors and contribute to the diversification of the national economy.
The initiative will enable Valo Aviation to construct a dedicated maintenance and repair hangar for VIP and business jets on a 6,000 square metre plot, adhering to approved technical standards. This expansion is part of Valo Aviation's strategy to boost its business aviation activities in Bahrain.
Khalid Hussain Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group, stated that the partnership aligns with the Group's strategic vision to establish Bahrain as a regional hub for specialised air services. He highlighted the importance of developing aviation infrastructure to attract private sector investment and support a sustainable aviation system.
Jeffrey Goh explained that the agreement is a significant step in enhancing business aviation services at Bahrain International Airport. The initiative is in line with the airport's development plans, aiming to maintain its attractiveness to business aviation service providers.
Hanna Hakamo praised Bahrain's strategic location and aviation sector development plans, viewing the project as a long-term investment that supports the broader growth of Bahrain's aviation sector.
