Manama: Dr. Ali bin Fadhel Al Buainain, the Attorney General, welcomed delegations from GCC public prosecution offices from November 10 to 1, as part of a regional initiative aimed at enhancing cooperation and knowledge exchange. This engagement underscores the commitment of GCC attorneys general to bolster shared expertise, refine operational practices, and foster development within prosecutorial bodies.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Buainain emphasized the significance of these visits in advancing the capabilities of prosecution offices throughout the GCC. The delegations were given comprehensive briefings on various departments within the Public Prosecution, with a focus on units dealing with family and child cases, human trafficking, drug-related crimes, as well as judicial oversight and special investigations.
The visiting delegations reviewed key practices such as the implementation of alternative sentencing, the concept of open prisons, and methods of mediation in criminal cases. They also
explored reconciliation processes in family and child matters. Additionally, they were introduced to several social initiatives, notably the Raya’a (Care) programme, which is dedicated to child protection and welfare.
