Chairman of the Arab Parliamentarians against Corruption (APAC) Nasser Al-Sanea said Friday that the combat against corruption requires planning and coordinated efforts to benefit from experiments.
"In order to make the anti-corruption process effective, we need sovereign decisions on the national level," Al-Sanea told KUNA at the end of the meeting of APAC - a non-government agency.
Combating corruption is not an easy task, he said, indicating that people's awareness and culture on fighting corruption expand and grow; however, corruption methods are developing and becoming more dangerous.
He pointed out that the organization's board of directors launched seven new books, in cooperation with a number of international organizations, which constitute material for training parliamentarians interested in combating corruption in the Arab world to use the best legislation and practices.
The organization's board of directors has launched three awards: The first is to the best Arab parliamentary work to combat corruption, the second is to the best activist on social media who succeeded in raising corruption issues and working to confront them, he stated.
The third one is for the best researcher who presents a paper dealing with a specific and successful case to fight corruption, he elaborated.
In addition, the APAC held some meetings with other institutions and Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
