Tatarstan: Ambassador Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, Ambassador to the Russian Federation and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, participated in the meetings of the Russia-Islamic World Forum held in Tatarstan. Ambassador Al Saati delivered a speech on the occasion, conveying the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to His Excellency Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, and their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation. He emphasised that Bahrain-Russia ties are based on mutual respect and a commitment to developing bilateral cooperation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the forum, HE President Minnikhanov announced the selection of Kazan as the Islamic Cultural Capital for 2026 by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). This year, the Russian Federation celebrates the twentieth anniversary of its accession to the OIC as an observer state.
