Mogadishu: United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), in coordination with the Somali government, carried out two airstrikes targeting members of the terrorist organisation ISIS, as part of joint efforts to eliminate terrorist threats.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the first strike took place on May 31, approximately 75 kilometres south of Bosaso, while the second was conducted on June 1, 72 kilometres south of the same city, in the Bari region in the northeast of the country.
It was explained that these operations aim to weaken the terrorist organisation's ability to plan and carry out attacks that threaten the security of Somali civilians, security forces, and international partners.
