Manama: The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has announced the opening of applications for its Mashroo3i programme, a key initiative designed to support individuals with innovative ideas and those aspiring to delve into entrepreneurship. The programme aims to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the Kingdom and encourage young Bahrainis to transform their creative concepts into entrepreneurial ventures.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Tamkeen offers Bahrainis with viable business ideas, idea-stage startups, or early-stage startups the opportunity to participate in an intensive advisory programme. This initiative focuses on equipping participants with entrepreneurial skills and abilities, offering the tools necessary to evolve their innovative ideas into a business model or successful company. The programme is divided into two tracks, one providing training in Arabic and the other in English, thereby broadening participation and maximizing the programme's benefits.
Khalid Al Bayat, Chief Growth Officer at Tamkeen, underscored the significance of fostering entrepreneurship and launching initiatives that inspire Bahraini innovators to enter the entrepreneurial arena. He stated, "We are proud of the outcomes of the Mashroo3i programme over the past years and look forward to even greater success. The importance of this programme lies in providing tailored guidance and mentorship to help transform a project from an idea into reality, under the supervision of experts and specialists in entrepreneurship who accompany the participant throughout their journey. These ideas are transformed into entrepreneurial projects that contribute to creating job opportunities for local talent and advancing the Kingdom's economic development."
The programme offers finalists the chance to receive Tamkeen's support to cover costs associated with materials and services essential for developing and launching their projects. The support is provided in phases, contingent upon reaching the agreed project objectives, and includes elements such as machinery and equipment, marketing, technology, minimum viable product (MVP) design, and patent.
This initiative aligns with Tamkeen's strategic priorities for 2025, which aim to enhance the position and competitiveness of Bahraini citizens in the private sector, equip Bahrainis with suitable skills for career development, and prioritize enterprise growth, digitisation, and sustainability.
