LMRA Conducts Over 1,000 Inspection Campaigns in One Week

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,077 inspection campaigns and visits from May 25 to May 31, 2025, which resulted in the detention of 12 violating and irregular workers, while 125 violators were deported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken concerning the observed violations.

The authority noted that 1,062 inspection visits were carried out on different shops across all governorates, in addition to 15 joint inspection campaigns. These included 5 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 3 in Muharraq Governorate, 6 in the Northern Governorate, and 1 in the Southern Governorate.

The campaigns saw collaboration with several government entities, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Police Directorates of the Governorates, the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and the Social Insurance Organisation.

The Authority affirmed the ongoing coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns throughout the Kingdom's governorates, aiming to address any violations or practices that could negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the Kingdom's economic and social security.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call for support from all societal members to aid government agencies in tackling illegal labour practices. It encouraged reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority's website, www.lmra.gov.bh, by calling the authority's call center at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System.
