Youth Minister Highlights Volunteerism’s Role in Empowering Bahraini Youth.

Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, highlighted the deeply ingrained culture of volunteerism among Bahraini youth, emphasising its role in fostering national belonging, enhancing community engagement, and developing personal and professional skills. According to Bahrain News Agency, she noted that the growing number of young Bahrainis involved in volunteer work reflects the Kingdom's commitment to promoting volunteerism and instilling its noble values in young people. Marking International Volunteer Day, observed annually on December 5, the minister highlighted the importance of the occasion as a renewed opportunity for Bahraini youth to reaffirm their dedication to serving their country and society. Volunteerism, she noted, serves as an effective means to drive positive change and create a lasting impact through innovative and community-focused initiatives that have significantly benefited Bahraini society. The minister further emphasised that the Ministry of Youth Affairs has i ntroduced numerous programmes and initiatives aimed at embedding the principles of volunteerism among young people. She added that these efforts focus on expanding the scope of volunteer work, fostering a sense of social responsibility, and building a sustainable and comprehensive system for volunteerism, which represents a meaningful investment in the abilities of Bahraini youth. The minister commended the contributions of Bahraini volunteers to various youth initiatives, particularly their work in youth empowerment centres and youth organisations and in the planning and execution of national and youth events. She said that these initiatives have showcased Bahraini youth's high competence and skills in successfully fulfilling assigned tasks and contributing to the success of numerous initiatives.
