Works Ministry Enhances Abnormal Load Permit Application Process

Manama: The Ministry of Works has upgraded its abnormal load permit application service as part of ongoing government efforts to modernise and streamline public services provided to the private sector. The enhancement reduces documentation requirements and accelerates processing in line with high standards of efficiency and transparency, improving the overall user experience for companies, investors, and beneficiaries. New features include mandatory completion of all required data prior to submission, prevention of duplicate applications, and automatic cancellation of inactive requests after three days, supporting better data quality and faster handling of applications.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Huda Mirza Al Salman, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services at the Ministry of Works, said the upgrade reflects the ministry’s commitment to advancing digital services. She noted that the improved service simplifies procedures, reduces time and effort for companies, supports the business environment, and contributes to the efficiency and safety of the road network. She added that the update will strengthen compliance with technical and regulatory requirements, enhance implementation quality, and improve satisfaction with government services. The development forms part of a wider programme to upgrade additional services, advance digital transformation, and strengthen the effectiveness of the government services system.

The ministry noted that more than 1,300 government services have been documented and published, with around 800 undergoing development or re-engineering across various sectors, based on feedback from the national “Tawasul” system, investors, and service quality assessments, supporting improved service delivery and digital transformation.
