Manama: The Ministry of Works has announced the completion of a comprehensive maintenance programme for the Kingdom's main road network, aimed at enhancing infrastructure efficiency, improving traffic safety, and ensuring smooth mobility across all governorates.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the works covered a number of major thoroughfares, including parts of Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway, Dry Dock Highway, Kuwait Avenue, Palace Avenue, Exhibitions Avenue, and other key roads in Sanabis and Riffa. Maintenance also included upgrading turn lanes at critical junctions and carrying out expansion joint repairs on several bridges, such as Shaikh Hamad Bridge and the Salman Port and Um Al Hassam flyover.
The ministry highlighted its close coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior to ensure road safety and minimise disruption through temporary diversions. It affirmed its commitment to sustaining the development of Bahrain's road network and expressed appreciation to citizens and residents for their cooperation during the maintenance works.
