The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) received US Ambassador to Bahrain, Steven C. Bondy.
The meeting discussed enhancing cooperation between Bahrain and the United States, in exchanging experiences in the field of research and the environment and building capacities in pearl industry and gemstones, which contributes to strengthening trade bilateral ties.
DANAT team presented the institute’s initiatives as part of Bahrain’s strategy to boost the pearl industry in the Kingdom. In addition to its role in enhancing the reputation of Bahrain as a leading centre in the field of pearls and gemstones, and its continuous efforts in promoting Bahraini pearl heritage and a sustainable marine environment.
Ambassador Bondy toured the institute and was briefed on DANAT’s work in terms of research, educational programs and other activities.
