Manama: The Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain held its fourth meeting of 2025, chaired by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board, in the presence of board members and invitees.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Juma congratulated the Board on the university's inclusion in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the first time since its establishment in 1986. This achievement marks a milestone as the first national university in Bahrain to enter the global ranking.
The Board reviewed a report by the World Bank on the Bahrain Teachers College. The report commended the quality of its teacher training programmes and its cooperation with the Ministry of Education. Members also discussed updates on local and international collaboration projects and reviewed progress reports on existing partnerships with universities and research institutions.
Additionally, the Board approved the university's and the Bahrain Teachers College's final accounts for 2024. This followed the review of the external auditor's reports and the recommendations from the Audit and Finance Committee.
