Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Israel, expressing hope that this development constitutes a step toward de-escalation and the creation of a conducive environment for regional stability.
According to Bahrain News Agency, in a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the diplomatic efforts led by His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States, and commended the constructive role of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, in facilitating the agreement.
The ministry emphasised the importance of continued effective coordination to prevent further escalation and mitigate its humanitarian and security consequences across the region.
The UAE reaffirmed its steadfast position on the need to exercise maximum restraint and prioritize political solutions and dialogue, stressing the importance of averting further conflicts that hinder development opportunities and threaten the security of regional populations.
The statement reiterated the UAE's commitment to working with regional and international partners to consolidate the foundations of peace and enhance security, stability, and development both regionally and globally.
