Doha: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been re-elected to the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) for the period from 2025 to 2029. This re-election was confirmed during the 51st meeting of the UNWTO Regional Committee for the Middle East, which took place in Qatar.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the UAE delegation at the meeting was led by Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the UAE. The gathering concentrated on discussing various tourism initiatives and projects that the committee plans to implement, all aimed at fostering the development and growth of the tourism sector within the region.
The re-election of the UAE underscores its ongoing commitment to playing a significant role in shaping global tourism policies and initiatives.
