UAE President Strengthens Ties with Mauritanian Counterpart

Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, received Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed affirmed the UAE's commitment to continue enhancing cooperation with Mauritania and developing ties across various levels, in a manner that serves mutual interests and supports sustainable development and prosperity for both countries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, both sides discussed means to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in development, economic, and renewable energy domains, in line with the development priorities of both countries. HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasised the importance of further strengthening cooperation in support of shared development priorities. His Highness reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting development in Mauritania.

The meeting also addressed regional and international issues of mutual interest, particularly developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional and international peace and security, including their impact on maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy. HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also referred to the Iranian attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region, reaffirming the UAE's firm stance rejecting such actions that threaten regional stability and violate international laws and norms.

On his part, the Mauritanian President reiterated Mauritania's condemnation of the Iranian attacks that undermine the sovereignty and security of states, and commended the UAE's effective measures and the efficiency of its security system in maintaining stability.
