Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, received a telephone call from Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the call discussed areas of cooperation and joint work between the two countries, particularly in the economic and development sectors, and means to enhance them within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, in a way that serves mutual interests and supports prosperity for the two peoples.
Both sides also reviewed developments in the Middle East and their serious implications for regional and international peace and security, as well as their impact on maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
On his part, President Zelenskyy reiterated his condemnation of the terrorist attacks targeting civilian facilities and infrastructure in the UAE, stressing that they represent a flagrant violation of the country's sovereignty and international law, and undermine security and stability.
The Ukrainian President also expressed appreciation to HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for the country's continued mediation efforts between Ukraine and the Russian Federation regarding prisoner exchanges, commending the success of these humanitarian efforts and their importance in alleviating suffering.
