UAE President and King of Jordan Discuss Regional Stability and Cooperation

Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, met with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to discuss bilateral relations and shared cooperation between the two countries, underlining their commitment to continue developing them in a way that serves mutual interests and benefits the two peoples.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting held in Abu Dhabi, the two leaders reviewed several regional and international issues of common interest, foremost among them developments in the Middle East, especially the recent events in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Both sides confirmed their countries' firm position in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and the importance of advancing international efforts to establish just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution as the best way to achieve stability in the region.

They emphasised their rejection of any Israeli measures to annex the West Bank or any part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory or to displace Palestinians from their land, in addition to plans for settlement expansion, underscoring that these practices undermine the chances of peace and threaten regional security and stability. They also expressed their rejection of Israeli statements and positions that constitute a threat to the sovereignty of the countries of the region.

HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and His Majesty King Abdullah II underlined their shared commitment to continue coordination and consultation between the two countries, especially given the developments occurring in the region.
