UAE Condemns Iranian Attack on ADNOC Vessels in Strait of Hormuz

Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the Iranian attack targeting two vessels affiliated with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. No injuries were reported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, in a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised that the attack constitutes a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which underscored the importance of freedom of navigation and rejected attacks on commercial vessels or the obstruction of international maritime routes, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The ministry warned of the repercussions of targeting commercial shipping on global energy security and the stability of trade flows. The UAE also stressed the need to halt the attacks, ensure freedom of navigation, and fully and unconditionally reopen the Strait of Hormuz, contributing to regional security and the stability of the global economy and trade.
