UAE Air Defences Respond to Multiple Missile and UAV Threats from Iran

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defences engaged eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, and 36 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on 31st March 2026.

According to Bahrain News Agency, since the beginning of the Iranian offensive, UAE air defences have countered a total of 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles, and 1,977 UAVs. The continuous attacks have led to the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces and a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces. Additionally, eight individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian nationalities have lost their lives.

In total, 188 people sustained injuries, with their conditions ranging from minor to severe. The injured include nationals from various countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.

The Ministry of Defence has asserted its readiness to address any potential threats, emphasizing its commitment to firmly confront any actions that threaten the nation's security. The ministry is dedicated to ensuring the protection of the UAE's sovereignty, security, stability, and national interests.
