The Head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Hassan Turan, affirmed: "Kirkuk is the key to the unity of Iraq."
Turan said in a statement: "The Turkmen will not allow a return to before the events of imposition of law," calling for the preservation of security gains.
He added, "It is easy to complete the verification of the voter registry in Kirkuk, and the matter requires political will."
The Head of the Turkmen Front continued: "We may resort to an alliance with other national forces in Salah al-Din, Nineveh and Diyala," indicating: "The Turkmen are with those who guarantee the rights of the component and maintain the federal security of Kirkuk."
