Tropical Storm Peipah Hits Japan’s Wakayama Prefecture

Wakayama: Tropical storm Peipah struck Wakayama Prefecture in western Japan on Friday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. The agency said the storm made landfall in the morning and is currently moving eastward along Japan's Pacific coast.

According to Bahrain News Agency, meteorologists warned that the storm could bring heavy rainfall across wide areas, with risks of flooding and landslides in much of the country. The storm is expected to reach speeds of up to 35 kilometres per hour over the Kinki region in western Japan.
